I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of

your despatch No 322 of the 16th ult and to inform

you that I approve your making provision on

the Estimates for 1893 for

a Staff for the

Victoria Hospital for Women and Children.

2. The salary of the two European Sisters

should be at the rate proposed in my despatch No

171 of the 16th of June viz: £110 a year

rising by triennial increments of £20 to

a maximum of £150, and the Probationers

If they are to

be Europeans, should also be fixed in sterling.

3. The salaries of the minor staff should

unless you see some reason to the contrary, be at the same rates as those of similar

officials on the staff of the Govt Civil

Hospital.
